![]() ![]() I read a bit about Amahi on their site and on other places. I care bit about security, it is part of my job so force of habit I guess. Just 'cause many people recommend it doesn't make it secure. Ovm looks kind of similar to amahi, i'll definitely look into it! thanks a lot, i'll report back if omv will be my choice or not! Ok i get it, the software i need will most likely run on any linux distro but on some its easier to install on than on others? thats what i mainly care about, so a web interface would be prefered, but if that kind of an os is not available: ubuntu or thats silly :p but i'll try it. What i especially liked about amahi was the fact that it has an easy to use web interface (at first i wanted to run freenas but i quickly found out that my hardware wouldn't be capabe enough so i though amahi would be a great i sad above, i'll check out ubuntu server later but do you know any server os that has an easy to use web mainly chose fedora because of the fact that it runs amahi, other than that i dont really care whether i use fedora or not and told me not to use fedora? Read what i told i am open to other suggestions as well as long as it is reasonably easy to setup and use might be true, but why does amahi use it then? many on the internet recommed amahi, how are you supposed to use it without fedora 19? are the ones you listed really better for a amahi only works with fedora 19 afaik. Thanks for your might be true, but from what i've heard amahi is very easy to use so thats why i choose to go that route. i just dont want to lock myself down by choosing the wrong os. What i want to do most likely: plex, windows sharing, maybe an itunes server. but i am open to other suggestions as well. from what i've heard amahi is very easy to setup and use and has many plugins you can install. To be honest, i don't really know what i'll need my homeserver to do at this point, i just want to experiment a little bit and see what i like most. so what benefits does fedora 21 have over fedora 19? Thanks though, i might consider doing that since i am completely out of ideas on what to know that fedora 19 is quite old but afaik amahi only works with fedora 19 which is why i choose it. Sure that's an option but there have to be easier ways to accomplish this, shouldnt there be? I open up suse image writer it asks me for a.
